123 Decathlon ChallengeShare this
The 2 Fellows: Bruce Elkins, Director, CW Fellowes Ltd and Peter Harding, Director, Questmap Ltd launched their 123 Decathlon Challenge on 20th October. This fantastic sporting event is taking place throughout 2012 in support of ourselves and two other charities – The Rose Road Association and Wessex Cancer Trust.
We are immensely proud to have been chosen as one of the charities who will benefit from the challenge. We are organising the Walk – on 25th March, and the Swim, on 20th December 2012.
Do look at our events calendar for details of all the events taking place during 2012.

The 123 Decathlon Walk and Family Fun Day, Sunday 25 March 2012
5k – one circuit of beautiful Manor Farm Country Park
10k – two circuits of Manor Farm Country Park
20k Walk : route Overview
On behalf of The Rainbow Centre, Jeremy Fox is proud to present the 20k walk as part of the 123 Decathlon.
Taking in the stunning beauty of the Hamble Valley, this challenging undulating route begins and ends in the Manor Farm Country Park and hugs the Hamble waterline. It then heads across the River Hamble and up into the Holly Hill Country Park.
Here, walkers will find steep, twisty tracks which will test their strength yet reward them with some beautiful woodland scenery.
The route continues down to Warsash and a checkpoint(CP3) before returning north along the Shore path, a lovely walk along the Hamble with views to the town of Hamble itself.
Before long the climbing starts again, with a gradual ascent back up to Holly Hill Lane and another checkpoint (CP4).
Walkers drop back down to the River shortly after CP 4 and the route then takes competitors back through Swanwick and across the River before swinging left for a loop around the pretty village of Bursledon – made famous by the BBC show ‘Howards Way’. Then it is a straight run home to the Manor Farm Country Park with a short and sharp uphill finish.
Boatyards, woodland, pretty villages, riverside walking, pubs, and nature are all packed into these 20 kilometres along a tough course which will test even the most experienced walker.
