Southampton challenged to Smash the Access Easter Egg Record
People of Southampton urged to donate chocolate eggs to The Rainbow Centre
The annual Access Self Storage Easter Egg Appeal is open for donations, with people from Southampton challenged to help beat last year’s national collection, which saw 800 chocolate eggs given to 10 charities across the UK.
Helen McPhail, manager of Access Self Storage Southampton said: “We’ve been part of this collection since it launched and have been so grateful to receive around 40 donations each year – and then in 2016, this nearly doubled when we collected 75! We’re extremely proud of our efforts and want to thank everyone who gave generously last year. Please come and do so again!”.
Every chocolate egg collected by Access Self Storage Southampton will go to The Rainbow Centre, a local charity supporting children with cerebral palsy and adults suffering from strokes, MS, Parkinson’s, cerebral palsy or head injuries, and their families.
McPhail said: “The Rainbow Centre does incredible work, helping very brave people of all ages battling serious medical conditions. Easter is a time when the gift of a chocolate egg really can make a difference so any donations you can kindly drop off will be stored safely here and taken straight to The Centre on April 13th. Your help will make it a happier occasion for the children at The Centre.”
Over the past five years since the annual Access Self Storage Easter Egg collection started, over 2,800 chocolate eggs have been donated to dozens of UK charities.
In 2016, the most generous regions in the Access Self Storage Easter Egg Appeal were Guildford with 150 eggs, Camberley and Manchester with 122 eggs each, followed by Portsmouth with 76 eggs and Southampton with 75.
