Old Phones Dial up DonationApollo

Recycling obsolete company mobile phones has benefited The Rainbow Centre charity to

the sum of £500, as well as helping Apollo Fire Detectors with the environmentally

responsible disposal of 50 old mobiles.

The Apollo IT department recently undertook the recycling of 50 old mobile phones and,

working with ShP Solutions, was able to ensure that the recycling met WEEE

environmental regulations. ShP does not charge for this service but instead offer a

donation to a charity of choice.

The Rainbow Centre based in Fareham Hants inspires and supports children with

Cerebral Palsy and adults with Stroke, MS and Parkinson’s disease, adult Cerebral Palsy,

Head Injury and also their families. Apollo has worked with The Rainbow Centre in the

past, so it was an easy choice to donate the funds to a charity local to the Havant head

Chris Lobo, IT Manager at Apollo, commented: “This is a great way of ensuring that

mobile phones are disposed of responsibly while raising much needed funds for local

organisations such as The Rainbow Centre which has recently raised over £150,000 via

their Crisis Appeal to keep the centre in Fareham open.”

Lara Bull, Centre Director at The Rainbow Centre, said: “We are very grateful to Apollo

Fire Detectors for this donation as we are always looking to raise funds to keep the

centre going and this £500 will certainly help us to support our families.”
