Eagle Riders spring Birthday surprise
|
|
Recently, the Eagle Riders were asked to help in making an 80th birthday one to remember. 80 year old year old Ken Johns from Lee on Solent had no idea of the surprise until 20 Eagle Riders arrived at his home on their Harleys.
The look on Ken's face was total amazement as the bikes just kept coming around the corner into his road, revving their engines as they lined up for Ken. Ken was then told that the bikers had to leave for a parade ride but the good news was that Ken was going with them. It was all over too soon and after delivering Ken back home, the bikers sang "Happy Birthday" and left him to digest the visit. As a result of this birthday surprise, Ken's family made a donation to the Rainbow Centre.
Tony Oakshot of the Eagle riders said - "This is the sort of event The Eagle Riders like to get involved in and it makes all the difference when a donation is made to charity".

| Parcelforce "Special Delivery" |
During a fundraising evening at Christmas the employees of Parcelforce Worldwide held a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses. They also had a couple of fun activities. They managed to raise £480 on the night, which was then matched by Parcelforce Worldwide bringing the total raised to £960.00
The two pivotal employees who helped to organise the event were Richard Goodman and Lynda Boyt. They visited the Centre recently and were given a guided tour to see first hand the excellent work done with the children. They both commented that "they were happy to support such a worthwhile charity and felt we were worthy of their continued support in the future"

 |
Thank you to Tyco Healthcare, who kindly donated just over £500 for us to buy toys and equipment for the children. We purchased various non-slip mats and some toys to help the children with their balance. Diane, Jo and Wendy visited the Centre and watched the children unpack some of the items.
