Fareham's Citizen of Honour Award 2005 goes to Rainbow Co-Founder

 
At the annual Mayor-making ceremony in Fareham's Ferneham Hall on 12 May 2005, Helen Somerset-How was presented with the Citizen of Honour award for her outstanding work for the Rainbow Centre during the past fifteen years. Helen said she accepted the award on behalf of Rainbow staff and volunteers, past and present, for their dedication and hard work.
Outgoing Mayor, Councillor David Swanbrow, who has supported the Centre as one of his two chosen charities during his mayoral year, announced that his charities would share £24,000.

In his speech of acceptance, the incoming mayor, Councillor Leslie Keeble (seated above) - also announced that he had chosen the Rainbow Centre as one of his charities for the forthcoming mayoral year (2005-6).. We are hugely grateful for the support given to us by Fareham's first citizens.
