History of the Rainbow Centre - Cams Hill School
|
Fortunately, when the Rainbow Centre was required to vacate the premises at Quay Street in 2004, another temporary solution was found in a pair of portacabins in the grounds of Cams Hill School, Fareham. These were in a dilapidated state and Fareham Borough Council and Hampshire County Council facilitated structural refurbishment and the installation of services., Rainbow Centre Staff and volunteers set about internal repairing, cleaning and decorating. |

Royal Visit

One of the most memorable days of the Rainbow Centre's short stay at Cams Hill School was in October 2005. HRH The Countess of Wessex visited the Centre to meet the children and staff.

The Rainbow Centre stay at Cams Hill School was always planned to be temporary, and once established, co-founder Helen Somerset How started the "Pot of Gold" appeal with the objective of financing the bulding of a permanent home.
