Havant Rugby Club was the venue chosen by TMCS (Taylor Made Computer Solutions) to host their inaugural Sportsmen’s dinner on Friday 9th March. TMCS is a long-time supporter of The Rainbow Centre and has recently become one of our corporate partners. This dinner is the first event in a series of fundraisers due to be held over the next five years and could not have been more successful.

90 guests in high spirits gathered to enjoy an Indian-themed meal with guest speaker David Faulkner. David won a gold medal as a member of the England Field Hockey team in the Seoul Olympics in 1988 and is a life-long member of Havant Hockey Club. His speech was a mix of humour and passion as David is now the Performance Director for the London 2012 Olympic hockey squad and gave the audience his insight into England’s athletes’ preparations and readiness for this year’s mammoth event.

The evening culminated in a lively auction where former Hampshire cricketers and prominent local businessmen bid for some very exciting lots including a Jaguar track day. The evening was a huge success and early indications are that over £5146 was raised, far in excess of expectations. Watch this space for more details later
