Rainbow Trustees

At The Rainbow Centre we inspire and support children with Cerebral Palsy and adults with MS and Parkinson’s disease or have had a stroke, and their families. Through a system of learning called Conductive Education we encourage and teach our participants to take an active role in their own development. Our participants learn new ways to become active and happy individuals who are proud of their own achievements and ready for life’s challenges.

We focus on “CAN DO” and inspire all participants to reach their full potential.

Established in 1990 and based at Fareham, we employ over 20 staff.

Our annual turnover is approximately £600,000.

We wish to recruit new Trustees to join our eight-strong governing body.

We need people who can help direct Rainbow towards achieving its mission and to ensure the organisation is effectively managed. You would need to be able to make a commitment to Rainbow and devote the necessary time; have strategic vision, independent judgement, an ability to think creatively and a willingness to speak your mind.

Ideally, you will also have skills and experience in one or more of the following areas:

• networking and relationship building
• experience of charity regulation at a strategic level
• experience of the voluntary and community sector.

We are particularly keen to achieve a more diverse board of trustees, and we welcome
applications from all sections of the community.

We will pay trustees’ travel expenses and provide an induction into Rainbows’ work.

For an informal discussion about the role of trustee, contact the CEO on 01329 289 500.
The closing date for applications is 2nd April 2012.

The Rainbow Centre is a registered charity 1096603
