People's Millions - Our Play Away Project
(see project description at the bottom of the page)

Wednesday 15 November
You did it for us!

Your vote secured us the balance of funding for our Play Away Project.
Meridian Television visited the centre this morning and presented us with a cheque for £49,884.
We can now start this project.

A huge thank-you to all who voted for us, to other funders of this project and of course to Big Lottery People's Millions

(In time, this page will be updated to show the progress of the Play Away Project as work on the garden starts).

When we reached the Final Stage with the Big Lottery - we asked a lot of you for your help in voting for us to secure a People's Millions grant.

This is a Big Lottery award programme aimed at helping to make the local community a better place in which to live by improving the environment. After careful vetting by the Big Lottery, the public chooses the winning project by telephone vote. This is where YOUR VOTES helped us.

The project we put forward for this grant is called Play Away and is to complete the funding for the development of specialist play areas for the children in the Centre's garden.
A promotional film about our project was screened on ITV "Meridian Tonight" on Tuesday 14th November when the public was asked to vote between ours and one other project.
We were informed of the result during the morning of 15 November when a Meridian TV crew arrived to film our reaction for the evening broadcast of "Meridian Tonight".
