Rainbow Golf Day South Winchester Friday 15th June 2012

On what had to be the most blustery day (understated) of the year, 60 heroic Rainbow supporters took to the Fairways of South Winchester Golf Club to raise money for The Rainbow Centre.

It was a fun day with lots of prizes and strong rivalry – there was even a golf lesson for the losing team donated by Richard Adams (Pro at SWGC).  Half way pimms was swapped for Hot Chocolate and Brandy but the rain held off until everyone was safely inside the Club House.  Khan Morris entered 5 teams (we are going to re-name the competition the KMA Challenge next year) with Rivitswade and Taylorcocks entering 2 teams each.  Our Ladies team headed up by Jaye Dixon did extremely well despite the wind and finished very well on the leaders board whilst young Jamie Basi beat everyone (including his Dad) to win the prize for the straightest drive.  Well done Jamie!

Changestone and Rivitswade were hole sponsors whilst teams from Acceler-IT Recruitment, Knowle Hill, ISV and Coffin Mew set the standards for the “On-course competitions”.  The Golf presentations were followed by a sumptuous 3 course dinner and auction.  It was an early finish due to the small matter of an England Football match but an excellent day and totals raised were nearly £4,000 so thank you everybody!
