A massive thank you to 100 supporters who turned out in the New Forest on Sunday 14th October to attempt the 100k cycle challenge – the eighth event in the 2012 123Decathlon. Rachel Elkins and Louise Pugh dressed up for the weather with a ‘Best of British weather’ fancy dress outfit and won! See if you can spot Bruce Elkins as ‘England’!

Cycling a 100k route is not an easy task for the majority of us, and everyone’s efforts should really be celebrated.

So far over £65,000 has been raised, with just two events to go . All funds will be evenly distribute between the 3 charities – ourselves, The Rose Road Association, and Wessex Cancer Trust.

A massive thanks go to the Graham High Group for generously sponsoring the event and supplying the t-shirts.

Thanks also to:

Laurence Dunn from DC Employment who put in a lot of time helping to prepare for the event, sponsoring the fancy dress and liaising with the Gridiron organisers. Also, Neil Wilson and Con Attridge from The Rose Road Association and Doug Miller of Coffin Mew for their assistance on the committee for the track and road cycle events.

We have TWO events left – the Table Tennis on the Thursday 15 November at Barton Peveril College in Eastleigh (sponsored by Snows Motor Group)– a poster is attached if you could put it up in your office, send it to colleagues – anything to help raise some interest! Why not ask your colleagues, use it as a an office teambuild event – have dinner/drinks afterwards, make a night of it!

The Swim event is on Thursday 20 December at Fareham Leisure Centre – finish of the year with one last massive effort. There will be mince pies and mulled wine to celebrate finishing the swim and last event.

Don’t forget that Bruce is generously donating a Brucie Bonus to anyone that manages to raise over £201.20!

Thanks again for your support.
