Halloween Ball – A night of Frights, Freaks & Fundraising!

Halloween was the theme as we hosted our 2016 Ball at the Marriott Hotel in Portsmouth.

The frightful theme began with zombies from Dark Encounters at Fort Widley, who lurked amongst guests as they enjoy their welcome drinks sponsored by Swinton Insurance, Fareham Branch.  More fun than frights followed as guests were entertained with spellbinding performances from SJ Academy of Dance.

The event also included a live and silent auction with prizes such as a week’s sailing trip on the Solent, tickets to see England V Argentina at Twickenham, a signed Matt LeBlanc polo shirt and a luxury spa break. In total the event helped to raise over £15,500 for the charity.

The Rainbow Centre supports children and adults with cerebral palsy, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis and those recovering from a stroke or head injury from across the Solent region.  The charity receives no Government funding so rely on the generosity of the community and fundraising events such as the Halloween Ball.

The money raised at the Halloween Ball would be enough to pay for Centre’s Early Intervention Group to run for three months.   The sessions run five days a week are two and a half hours long, primarily for children under the age of three and their parents or carers. The Early Intervention Group teaches parents techniques to assist them with preparing their child for life’s journey and helps the children to achieve the greatest independence possible and overcome the challenges presented by cerebral palsy.

The night concluded with the chance for guests to strike a pose in the Prop A Print photo booth. Plus the dance floor was a sea of witches, ghouls and villains thanks to the spooktacular live music from seven piece band, Take Note, who covered haunting tunes including Michael Jackson’s Thriller.

THANK YOU to everyone that supported the event and helped to make it an incredible night.
