IMG_5859The Rainbow Centre, in Fareham, has thanked all the Great South Run participants, particularly the 32 people that chose to run for them.

Runners of the 10-mile race have raised in excess of £6,500 to support children and adults with cerebral palsy and adults with multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s and those recovering from stroke or head injury.

The runners were cheered on by family and friends on what was a beautiful autumnal day, everyone really enjoyed the event, whether they were running for the first time or were seasoned runners attending the event.

Lara Bull, centre director, said: ‘We were absolutely delighted to have so many people running for us this year. ‘It was fantastic to see so many Rainbow tops within the crowds of runners, and all of our cheering volunteers were so very proud of everyone undertaking the challenge’

‘What a brilliant event the Great South Run is for all local charities.’
